GTA 6 Coming to PC in “6 or 7 Months,” Claims Analyst
Grand Theft Auto 6 is confirmed to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, bringing Rockstar’s next major installment to console players. However, the PC version’s availability timeline has remained uncertain. According to prominent industry analyst Michael Pachter, interviewed by the BBC, the PC release is expected to arrive approximately 6 to 7 months after the console launch, placing it in the April to June 2027 timeframe.
Pachter emphasized that Grand Theft Auto 6 is not a console exclusive, indicating that Rockstar Games has committed to a multi-platform strategy. This staggered release approach follows Rockstar’s established pattern with major Grand Theft Auto titles, where PC versions typically arrive several months after console launches to maximize initial sales on dedicated gaming platforms.
The extended wait for PC gamers aligns with Rockstar’s historical precedent. Grand Theft Auto 5, for instance, launched on consoles before arriving on PC nearly a year later. This sequential platform strategy allows Rockstar to concentrate marketing efforts and sales momentum on console versions before expanding to the broader PC audience. Additionally, reports indicate a Grand Theft Auto 6 original score soundtrack will release following the game’s launch.
