GTA 6 Online Could Be Released In Early 2027, Bank Says
Take-Two Interactive’s stock has struggled in 2025, dropping 21% year-to-date and falling below $200 per share despite expectations around the November 2025 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. However, Bank of America remains bullish on the company, recommending investors buy and hold the stock through the GTA 6 launch, citing what it sees as an underappreciated growth opportunity.
The bank’s optimism centers on the planned release of GTA Online 2.0, which is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027. Bank of America believes investors are significantly underestimating the revenue potential of this new version of the live-service game. In a memo to investors, the bank argued that Take-Two stock “remains cheap” and that the market is not fully appreciating how substantial GTA Online 2.0 could be.
GTA Online, the multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V, has been a major revenue driver for Take-Two and Rockstar Games since its launch. The expected overhaul for GTA Online 2.0 represents a significant new monetization opportunity that could drive substantial earnings growth for the publisher. The analyst recommendation suggests confidence in both the GTA 6 launch and the company’s long-term revenue prospects from the updated live-service title.
