Monster Train 2 is getting a new clan, and they’re edgy as h̶e̶l̶l heaven

Monster Train 2 is receiving a new DLC clan called The Punished, a collection of dark angels and heavenly outcasts launching November 10 for $7.99. The clan is led by the playable warrior Archus, Darkness Incarnate, who embodies the thematic identity of suffering-turned-strength that defines the faction.

The Punished introduce a distinctive clan mechanic revolving around the Monolith, a static interaction button that serves as the clan’s core strategic tool. Players can sacrifice cards to the Monolith in exchange for Zeal, a buff that enhances unit capabilities during combat. This mechanic design mirrors the approach taken by The Railforged, a previous DLC clan that launched in February, suggesting developer Shiny Shoe’s commitment to giving each clan expansion meaningful mechanical identity alongside thematic coherence.

Beyond the standard PC version, Shiny Shoe announced that Monster Train 2 is expanding to mobile and handheld platforms, significantly broadening the game’s reach. This platform expansion represents a notable shift for the deckbuilding roguelike, opening the title to players on new devices and ecosystems.
