Modern Warfare 4 Just Made 100% Completion Impossible With New Update
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has introduced a balance change to its Free-for-All mode that has created an unintended problem for completion-focused players. Less than a week after launch, Activision deployed an update implementing two significant changes: limiting party sizes to two players and reducing the score limit required to win a match to 25 kills.
The issue stems from a Calling Card challenge that requires players to earn a nuke killstreak—a 30-kill streak without dying—within a Free-for-All match. With the new score limit set at 25 kills, matches now end before players can possibly achieve the required 30 consecutive eliminations, making the challenge mathematically impossible to complete.
This creates a barrier to 100% completion for players pursuing the game’s full achievement list. The Free-for-All mode change was apparently intended to balance match length and pacing, but developers did not account for the completion requirement when implementing the lower score limit.
The issue has been flagged by the Call of Duty community through verified accounts on X, bringing developer attention to the unintended consequence. Whether Activision will adjust the challenge requirements, revert the score limit change, or implement an alternative solution remains unclear, but players seeking platinum trophies or full completion are currently locked out of this achievement.
