Nintendo’s Indie World Presentation Was Pretty Packed For A Short Show

Nintendo held a 15-minute Indie World Showcase in October 2026 featuring 23 indie games coming to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and other platforms. Despite its brevity, the presentation delivered several significant announcements and surprise releases.

The showcase’s headline announcement was the release date for Witchbrook, the long-anticipated magical life sim from Chucklefish. The cozy spellcasting game arrives January 28, 2027, on PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox, with a PlayStation 5 port also confirmed. Players will attend witch college and complete assignments across magical disciplines including Alchemy, Astrology, and Tarot.

Another featured title was Winds of Viridia, an action-adventure game from developer Shark Jump that draws inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game emphasizes exploration, with players teaming up with a moth companion to battle beasts and discover secret areas. A demo became immediately available following the presentation.

My Arms Are Longer Now, described as the showcase’s “weirdest” offering, stood out for its relaxing, exploratory approach—a notable contrast to action-focused titles. Its demo received particular praise for encouraging players to slow down and experience the game world rather than rushing through content.

The event shadow-dropped multiple demos and full games to the Nintendo eShop, with the presentations featuring notably quirky offerings including several raccoon-themed games. The packed schedule underscored Nintendo’s commitment to supporting indie developers across both current and next-generation hardware.
