As No Man’s Sky arrives on mobile, Hello Games celebrates with a spooky update for all that includes delivery missions and “seamless” interstellar travel

No Man’s Sky has launched on iOS, with iPhone and iPad owners now able to access Hello Games’ procedurally generated space exploration game across two additional platforms. Coinciding with the mobile release, developer Hello Games unveiled the Forsaken update (version 7.10), a seasonally appropriate horror-themed expansion arriving today across all versions.

Forsaken explores what the developer calls the “darker side of the universe,” introducing Halloween-themed content and new gameplay mechanics. The update emphasizes scavenging missions, where players hunt for bizarre curios and haunted technology from derelict hulks, abandoned freighters, dig sites, and infested outposts. Traders now request haunted tech and biological horrors in exchange for biomechanical corvette modules that give ships an unsettling, otherworldly aesthetic reminiscent of science fiction franchises like Star Trek’s Borg or the Yuuzhan Vong.

The update also introduces delivery missions and improved interstellar travel described as “seamless,” alongside additional quality-of-life enhancements. This release continues Hello Games’ pattern of substantial free updates—Forsaken arrives just one month after the Cosmos update, which launched in September to commemorate the game’s tenth anniversary. Cosmos added significant features including the ability to explore closer to stars, construct personal space stations, and investigate large derelict structures.

No Man’s Sky’s consistent stream of major free updates has helped rehabilitate the game’s reputation since its troubled 2016 launch, establishing it as a notable example of developer redemption through sustained post-launch support. The game now operates across numerous platforms including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and cloud services, with the iOS expansion further widening its accessibility.
