Sony Is Bringing The Best Trend Of ’90s Console Design To PS5

Sony announced the Prism Collection, a new line of transparent DualSense controllers and PS5 console covers that revive the iconic see-through design trend of the late 1990s. The collection features three color options: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray, each with a glossy translucent finish that reveals the internal hardware beneath.

DualSense controllers will retail for $84.99 USD (€84.99/£74.99), while matching PS5 console covers will cost $74.99 USD (€74.99/£64.99). The design was inspired by the PlayStation 5 design team’s desire to showcase both the protective exterior and the engineering within. Each color option carries distinct aesthetic qualities—Flare Orange with a bold and vibrant appearance, Emerald Green with an elegant finish, and Graphite Gray for a refined look.

Preorders open on November 10, 2026, through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers, with full availability beginning February 4, 2027. The collection represents PlayStation’s continued expansion of DualSense customization options, following earlier 2026 collaborations with major titles including GTA 6, Marvel’s Wolverine, and Marathon, as well as the Hyperpop collection.
