Silent Hill: Townfall Keeps Changing Difficulty, Patch 1.6 Adds Hard Mode

Silent Hill: Townfall continues to receive balance adjustments in its latest patch. Update 1.6, now available on PS5, introduces a new Hard difficulty mode that sits between the standard Normal and Nightmare difficulty settings, providing players with an additional challenge tier. This represents the latest in a series of ongoing difficulty refinements for the survival horror game.

The update comes shortly after the developer addressed some of the game’s most problematic aspects. Recent patches have already included substantial nerfs to one of the game’s most frustrating enemies, as well as fixes to a notably confusing puzzle that players were struggling to solve. These continuous adjustments suggest the developer is actively responding to player feedback regarding game balance and difficulty progression.

The addition of Hard mode provides more granular difficulty options for players with varying skill levels and preferences. With Normal, Hard, and Nightmare modes now available, players can better tailor their horror experience to match their desired challenge level. The focus on difficulty balancing indicates developer Supermassive Games’ commitment to ensuring the game remains engaging without being unnecessarily punishing, while still maintaining the tension and challenge expected from a Silent Hill title.
