When Does Apex Legends Cipher Release and What’s New?
Respawn Entertainment has officially announced Season 31 of Apex Legends, titled Cipher, launching on November 3-4, 2026 depending on timezone. The announcement was made ahead of the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs in Las Vegas.
Cipher brings significant balance changes across the legend roster. The standout update is a comprehensive rework of Crypto, redesigned to function as a more aggressive intelligence gatherer. The change represents a notable shift from a passive surveillance playstyle toward a more combat-oriented approach.
Multiple other legends will also receive adjustments in Season 31 beyond Crypto’s rework, though specific details about these additional changes were not disclosed in the initial announcement. The timing of the season launch coincides with competitive play, suggesting the balance adjustments may influence the meta for the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs.
