Baldur’s Gate 3 custom campaign mod channels World of Warcraft with an adventure about undead former slaves fighting to reclaim a kingdom

A community modder has released the opening act of “Forsaken,” an ambitious custom campaign mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 that transplants World of Warcraft into Larian’s RPG. The mod tells the story of the Forsaken—undead former slaves who have recently awakened to consciousness after being freed from servitude to a Lich King, now rising up to reclaim their stolen kingdom.

The creator behind Forsaken is the same designer who recently released the Act Two Expansion mod in September, which added a significant new region for players to explore between the second and final acts of BG3’s main campaign. That previous project demonstrated the modder’s ability to create large-scale, ambitious content that integrates seamlessly with Larian’s existing game.

The Forsaken mod represents a notable expansion of what’s possible within Baldur’s Gate 3’s modding framework, allowing the community to reimagine the game’s core narrative in entirely different universes. Rather than following the traditional D&D lore that grounds the base game, players can now experience the dark fantasy setting of World of Warcraft, complete with its own mythology and character archetypes.

With the opening act now publicly available, players interested in both Baldur’s Gate 3 and World of Warcraft have a new opportunity to experience these two franchises combined in unexpected ways. The release of this initial chapter suggests the modder plans to continue expanding the campaign with additional acts, though no specific timeline for future releases has been announced.
