Pokémon Announces Newest Collab, and It’s With… Fender Guitars?!
Pokémon has announced a collaboration with legendary guitar manufacturer Fender to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon Red and Green. The partnership will produce two limited-edition electric guitars: the Made in Japan Pokémon Red Version Stratocaster and the Made in Japan Pokémon Green Version Telecaster, both scheduled for release in 2027.
The guitars combine Fender’s classic design aesthetic with retro Pokémon pixel art, blending traditional guitar craftsmanship with Game Boy-era visuals. A distinctive feature includes a “time-warping toggle to 8-bit audio” that allows players to shift the guitar’s sound to retro tones reminiscent of the original Game Boy’s chiptune audio, connecting the instruments to the series’ nostalgic roots.
Preorders are set to open soon, though specific dates and pricing remain unannounced. This collaboration represents a notable brand partnership and is part of Pokémon’s broader 30th anniversary merchandise celebration.
