Anyone Can Play Soulframe For Free Starting Next Week

Soulframe, the fantasy-themed spin-off of Digital Extremes’ popular live-service game Warframe, is transitioning from invite-only playtesting to open access. Starting November 6, anyone will be able to download and play Soulframe Open Preludes for free on Windows PC through the game’s official website, marking a significant expansion of the game’s alpha test phase.

The move to open access comes ahead of the Verse of the Veilands update, scheduled for later in November. This shift represents a major change in the game’s development strategy, as previous playtesting opportunities had been restricted to selected players. Currently, the open preludes are exclusive to Windows PC and will need to be downloaded directly from Soulframe’s website rather than through mainstream gaming platforms like Steam.

The opening of Soulframe’s playtest to the broader community demonstrates developer confidence in the game’s progress and likely aims to gather feedback from a larger pool of players before the next major content update. This approach is becoming increasingly common for live-service games seeking community input during active development.
