Baggy Cat Games has announced that At Dead of Night 2: The Great Hugo is coming “very soon,” marking the return of the viral FMV horror franchise. The sequel reunites players with protagonist Maya as she investigates a large Tudor manor house, with the story taking place five years after the original game’s events.
The original At Dead of Night achieved viral success during the pandemic, becoming a phenomenon largely driven by popular streamers and content creators including Markiplier, 8-BitRyan, John Wolfe, and DomPlays. The game’s standout characters—protagonist Maya and the disturbing antagonist Jimmy Hall, a hotel landlord obsessed with building an audience for his late-night comedy show—captured audiences alongside his psychopathic comedy persona, Hugo Punch.
The Great Hugo picks up where the original left off, though specific details about gameplay, story progression, and platform availability remain limited. Baggy Cat Games has confirmed the release is imminent but has not yet provided an official launch date.
