Footage of a Persona 1 remake has seemingly leaked online
Almost two minutes of gameplay footage from what appears to be a Persona 1 remake has leaked online, shared to the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit on October 31st. The video was uploaded to file-sharing site Gofile under the Japanese filename “Megami Ibunroku Persona Remake,” and fans have identified the remake’s subtitle as “Be Your True Mind.”
The leaked footage showcases a remake built in the modern Persona style, featuring stylish menus, dungeon exploration, and combat mechanics closely resembling Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload. The video includes a social link cutscene and shows the original protagonist exploring a school-themed dungeon before entering battle. Notably, Tatsuya Suou from Persona 2: Innocent Sin appears as a party member, though this may be a cross-promotional skin. The footage appears to have been created for an internal presentation and reuses some animations from Persona 4 Revival.
This leak arrives amid ongoing fan requests for remakes of the first two Persona games. Series producer Kazuhisa Wada stated in August that remaking the early entries “is something we should definitely do.” While the authenticity of leaks in the age of AI-generated content warrants caution, the footage’s stylistic consistency with Atlus’ recent releases lends credibility to its legitimacy. No official announcement has been made by Atlus regarding this remake.
