Phantom Blade Zero is Steam’s biggest launch of the year so far, selling over 4 million copies in three days

Phantom Blade Zero has become a massive success, selling over 4 million copies across all platforms within 72 hours of its October 29 launch. The wuxia-themed action-RPG from Beijing-based developer S-Game is available on Steam and PlayStation 5, with the figure also including sales from China’s Tencent WeGame launcher. This represents an extraordinary achievement—approximately 926 units sold per minute or 15.4 per second over the opening weekend.

The game immediately dominated Steam’s charts, becoming the platform’s biggest launch of 2026 so far, and set a record of 833,921 concurrent players on November 1. The title marks S-Game’s first major console release beyond mobile gaming. Phantom Blade Zero has also resonated critically, achieving an 88 Metacritic score, with reviewers praising its distinctive martial arts animation and soulslike combat mechanics that capture the artistic essence of wuxia cinema. The majority of preorders came from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, reflecting strong regional appeal alongside its international success.
