PSA: ‘Pikmin 4 + Dandori Academy’ Demo Blooms On Switch 2 Today
Nintendo released a free demo for Pikmin 4 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy on the Switch eShop today. The demo was announced during a surprise Pikmin Direct presentation over the weekend, which also featured new animated shorts celebrating Pikmin Day 2026.
The demo provides access to Sun-Speckled Terrace, the first main area of Pikmin 4’s campaign, allowing players to experience the base game’s core gameplay mechanics. Additionally, the demo includes access to two challenges from Dandori Academy, the expansion content exclusive to the Switch 2 version of the game. This combination gives prospective buyers a sampling of both the traditional Pikmin 4 experience and a taste of the new Switch 2-specific content before deciding to purchase the full game.
The free demo is designed to let players “play before you pay,” in Nintendo’s terms. The release comes as part of Pikmin Day 2026 celebrations and represents Nintendo’s continued efforts to populate the Switch 2 launch window with playable experiences for major titles, particularly those offering new or enhanced features exclusive to the new hardware.
