Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds Rumored to Be Working on New Marvel Movie

According to a report from CartierFilms, Ryan Reynolds is in talks to write a Marvel Cinematic Universe project centered on Alpha Flight, the Canadian superhero group. Details remain unclear, with the project potentially taking the form of either a standalone film or a prominent storyline within the next Deadpool installment.

Alpha Flight, which first debuted in April 1979 in The Uncanny X-Men issue 120, was originally conceived by artist John Byrne as part of Wolverine’s backstory. The team later graduated to their own dedicated comic series and has remained a fixture of Marvel Comics lore, representing Canada’s answer to superhero teams like the Avengers.

Reynolds’ involvement would mark a continuation of his MCU presence following the successful integration of Deadpool into Marvel’s cinematic universe. The actor previously teased earlier this year that he would reprise his role as the Merc with a Mouth in future MCU projects.

The same report also surfaced casting news suggesting that a new actor is in negotiations to assume the role of Wolverine, potentially making their MCU debut within the Alpha Flight project itself. This development adds intrigue to how Marvel Studios plans to weave its Canadian characters into the broader MCU narrative.
