Saudi-backed Kingdom of Gaming event delayed to 2027

Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom of Gaming, an ambitious government-backed gaming industry event, has been postponed from its original December 1-3 dates in Riyadh to an unspecified date in 2027. The delay was announced quietly last week through updates to the event’s website and social media accounts, which now display “Coming in 2027” instead of the scheduled December dates.

No official statement or explanation accompanied the postponement, but Benjamin Kratsch, Chief Business Development Officer at Saudi government-linked venture builder Levelz Gaming Group, acknowledged the delay on LinkedIn on October 28, writing simply “Kingdom of Gaming is coming. It takes a little longer…”

The Kingdom of Gaming represents Saudi Arabia’s continued push to establish itself as a major hub for the global gaming industry, aligned with broader initiatives under the country’s Vision 2030 development program. The event was positioned as a significant gathering for gaming executives, developers, and industry stakeholders.

The lack of transparency regarding the delay and its causes has left questions unanswered about what prompted the postponement and what participants should expect when the event eventually launches. Given the shift from a specific December date to a vague 2027 timeframe, significant planning or logistical challenges appear to have influenced the decision.
