Valve’s Steam Frame has taken a spot in the top ten most popular VR headsets on Steam
Valve’s Steam Frame virtual reality headset has rapidly gained significant traction on Steam following its launch in late September. According to the latest Steam Hardware Survey, the device climbed from a 0.41% usage share in September to 4.13% in October—a tenfold increase representing its first full month of real-world availability data. This substantial growth has positioned the Steam Frame as the sixth most popular VR headset among the Steam user base.
The device surpassed several well-established competitors in the market, including the Oculus Rift S, Sony PlayStation VR2, HTC Vive, the original Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, and Bigscreen Beyond. Despite this strong showing, Meta’s Quest 3 continues to maintain a commanding lead in the VR headset rankings on Steam. The Steam Frame’s rapid adoption demonstrates considerable early interest in Valve’s premium-tier VR offering within the Steam community, suggesting that the high-end headset has successfully resonated with enthusiast players willing to invest in top-tier virtual reality experiences.
