CoD: Modern Warfare 4 Arrives To Warzone With New Maps, Movement, And Features

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s Season 1 launches on November 6 and brings a major overhaul to Warzone, fully integrating the new entry with the battle royale mode. The integration replaces Black Ops 7’s maps with Modern Warfare-themed maps, with two new maps launching immediately and two classic returning maps arriving later in the season.

The update overhauls Warzone’s movement mechanics to match Modern Warfare 4’s systems and introduces several new features. A new weather system will randomly determine map conditions—including rain, wind, and other environmental effects—at the start of each match, adding variety to gameplay. Additionally, an operator-skin toggle feature allows players to customize their characters more flexibly.

The season brings substantial new content, including a fresh battle pass, additional multiplayer maps and modes, and expanded DMZ content. Four new weapons will be available to unlock, with full access to all Modern Warfare 4’s arsenal, alongside a new leveling and prestige system and Camo challenges.

However, the integration marks the end of Warzone support for Xbox One and PS4 players. The battle royale will continue on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S with the new Modern Warfare 4 integration, leaving last-generation console players unable to access the updated mode.
