The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel is confirmed, finally getting new trailer and full name, 8 years, 4 months, and 23 days after its reveal

Bethesda has officially revealed that the sixth installment in The Elder Scrolls series will be titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. The announcement came on November 3, 2026, as part of a video celebrating Bethesda Softworks’ 40th anniversary, with studio director Todd Howard making the reveal. This announcement occurs approximately eight years after the original teaser in 2018.

The name confirmation followed months of speculation, with the announcement video containing minimal new information beyond a brief teaser showing an Elder Scroll emerging from sand. Accompanying the reveal was an atmospheric quote attributed to Yazar, Moth Priest to High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell, that reads: “The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate.” This reference to Hammerfell, a desert region in The Elder Scrolls lore, strongly suggests the game’s setting and indicates a departure from Skyrim’s snowy northern landscape.

Bethesda did not reveal gameplay footage or substantial additional details about Sentinel. The announcement represents the first official confirmation of the subtitle since the initial reveal eight years ago, ending years of speculation among fans and media.
