Upcoming Final Fantasy 14 update should massively cut down on dungeon queue times

Final Fantasy 14 will introduce same-region player matchmaking starting November 10, 2026, following a successful trial on Japanese servers. The update aims to significantly reduce dungeon queue times, particularly for alliance raids targeting newer players who currently face lengthy waits outside of roulette content.

The game’s server architecture uses physical data centers across Japan, Europe, Oceania, and North America, subdivided into logical data centers. The new matchmaking system will prioritize finding players within the same region before expanding searches globally, streamlining the dungeon-finding experience and addressing a long-standing quality-of-life issue in the community.
