GTA 6 Pre-Load: Date and Disk Space Requirements Confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Rockstar Games has confirmed pre-load details for Grand Theft Auto 6, with digital pre-orders beginning November 10, 2026, ahead of the game’s global release on November 19. Pre-load times vary by platform: PlayStation 5 players can start downloading at midnight local time, while Xbox Series X and Series S users begin pre-loading at 12am GMT on November 10 (4pm PT / 7pm ET on November 9). Physical retail copies containing download codes will become available starting November 12.

The game requires 212GB of storage space, with Rockstar recommending players have ample space before pre-loading begins to avoid delays on launch day. Notably, GTA 6 is digital-only on consoles—no physical discs will be released.

Rockstar is offering physical merchandise for fans, continuing a tradition from earlier GTA titles. A printable poster and map of the game’s setting, Leonida, will be available as free digital downloads from the official website on November 19. A double-sized physical poster will launch at the Rockstar Store for $0.99 shortly after release, or free with any store purchase.

Given the anticipated demand for one of the decade’s most highly-anticipated titles, Rockstar is encouraging players to download during the pre-load window rather than waiting until launch day, when server congestion could cause significant delays. The game is single-player only at launch, allowing immediate play once files are decrypted after November 19.
