Nongshim RedForce Announces Dambi Departure
Nongshim RedForce has announced the departure of Valorant pro Lee ‘Dambi’ Hyuk-kyu from its roster ahead of the 2027 competitive season. The announcement comes at a transitional time for the Korean esports organization, which was not selected as a VCT Partnered Team for the 2027 and 2028 seasons despite fielding one of the most successful rosters of 2026.
Dambi’s tenure with Nongshim RedForce was marked by significant achievements. The organization highlighted his contributions from the team’s early Pacific stage appearances through to winning a Masters trophy and competing at the international Champions tournament in 2026. In its departure announcement, Nongshim RedForce emphasized Dambi’s commitment to the team, noting that “through every high and low, he always put the team first.”
Despite losing its partnership status with Valorant Champions Tour, Nongshim RedForce has confirmed it will continue competing in the Valorant competitive space. The organization’s loss of partner status represents a significant blow to its operational structure, as VCT partnership provides substantial financial support and guaranteed league spots. However, the organization remains committed to fielding competitive rosters.
