Silica, an FPS and RTS hybrid that mixes a smidge of Dune and Helldivers together, has left early access and entered 1.0

Silica, a hybrid game combining first-person shooter and real-time strategy elements, has officially exited early access and reached version 1.0 following several years of development. Created by Martin Melichárek and supported by Bohemia Interactive (the studio known for DayZ), the game represents an ambitious attempt to merge two traditionally distinct genres into a single cohesive experience.

Set on an alien planet, Silica centers on a conflict between two warring factions competing to extract a valuable resource. The game draws creative inspiration from both Frank Herbert’s Dune and the action-focused gameplay of Helldivers, blending strategic decision-making with real-time combat. Players must contend with hostile alien creatures alongside traditional faction-versus-faction competition.

The 1.0 release marks Silica’s transition from early access to official full launch. This milestone represents the completion of its development cycle with Bohemia Interactive’s continued support. The game’s official release reflects the growing market interest in innovative genre-blending titles that challenge traditional gaming boundaries and offer players novel multiplayer experiences.
