All the news about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake
Nintendo is launching a Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, nearly three decades after the original Nintendo 64 release. The remake features a substantially updated visual style with a more realistic aesthetic while maintaining core elements of the 1998 classic.
The remake includes several modern quality-of-life improvements, such as a dedicated jump button, sprint functionality, and full voice acting. A new “Threads of Time” feature helps players track their progress through the game. Despite these enhancements, Nintendo has stated that the remake will remain largely faithful to the structure and gameplay of the original N64 version.
To commemorate the release, Nintendo is launching special editions of the Switch 2 and Switch 2 Pro Controller featuring Triforce imagery from the Zelda franchise. The announcement positions the remake as Nintendo’s major fall release, competing with other high-profile titles like Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI.
