This Underloved RPG From The Fallout New Vegas Developer Is Now Cheaper Than Ever, And I’ve Taken An Avowed Interest
Avowed, the RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment, is currently available at its lowest price ever. The game is set in the Pillars of Eternity universe and has largely flown under the radar despite being a solid triple-A title worthy of serious attention from RPG enthusiasts. Described as a more vibrant alternative to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Avowed features strong character writing, engaging combat mechanics, and a compelling antagonist that provokes both frustration and admiration from players.
While the game demonstrates significant strengths and provides an engaging experience, it is not without its limitations. The main narrative doesn’t reach the level of a masterpiece, and players may find that enemy variety becomes repetitive throughout the experience. Despite these shortcomings, the game delivers an enjoyable and worthwhile adventure. Given that it is now available at a record-low price point, there’s little reason for RPG fans to pass on the opportunity to experience what Obsidian has created.
