Nintendo Joins The Accessible Games Initiative, Adopting A Bunch Of New eShop Game Tags
Nintendo has joined the Accessible Games Initiative and introduced a new set of accessibility tags to the Nintendo eShop, allowing players to filter games based on specific accessibility features like Narrated Menus, Full Input Remapping, and Playable with Buttons Only. Players can visit the eShop Tags page and select any accessibility feature to discover all games that support it.
This initiative extends across the gaming industry, with Xbox, Ubisoft, and EA also adopting the Accessible Games Initiative tags. Riot Games and Google have begun implementing similar tagging systems as well. The standardized approach reflects growing industry commitment to making gaming more accessible, providing a collaborative framework that helps both developers highlight their accessibility features and players find games that meet their specific accessibility needs.
