Nvidia Adds “GPU App Prioritisation” Feature for Some RTX GPU Owners

Nvidia has rolled out a new “GPU App Prioritisation” feature for some RTX GPU owners following the 11.0.9.585 update to its proprietary app. The feature allows users to limit the maximum amount of GPU performance consumed by background applications, located in the System > Advanced settings menu. Previously seen on Nvidia’s RTX Spark systems, it represents efforts to give users more granular control over their GPU resources, potentially beneficial for gamers and content creators seeking to ensure foreground applications receive priority access.

However, the feature’s rollout has been notably opaque. It is not mentioned in official patch notes, and visibility appears inconsistent across the user base—some RTX GPU owners cannot see the feature despite having the latest version installed. This selective availability and lack of documentation suggest either a staged rollout or a visibility issue that may hinder user discovery. The omission from patch notes prevents users from being formally notified about the new capability, while its hidden nature may significantly limit awareness and adoption among the broader RTX user base.
