IGN Entertainment promotes Alex Simmons to lead editorial across its portfolio, with Wesley Yin-Poole overseeing IGN

IGN Entertainment has announced a significant leadership restructuring, promoting veteran Alex Simmons to Vice President, Editorial and Group Editor-in-Chief. In this newly created role, Simmons will oversee editorial operations across the company’s entire portfolio of brands, including IGN.com, Eurogamer, Rock Paper Shotgun, and GamesIndustry.biz, while also supporting partner brands Outside Xbox and Hooks.

Simmons brings over two decades of experience at IGN Entertainment to the position. Most recently serving as Senior International Editorial Director, he has held various editorial leadership roles throughout his 20-year tenure at the company, including a stint as Editor-in-Chief of IGN UK.

Under this restructuring, Wesley Yin-Poole has been assigned to oversee day-to-day editorial operations specifically for IGN.com, the company’s flagship gaming website. The reorganization appears designed to create a clearer hierarchy, with Simmons providing strategic editorial direction across all brands while Yin-Poole manages tactical execution on the main IGN property.
