Star Wars Actor Officially Confirms the Hunt for Ben Solo Is Dead — and That’s a Good Thing.

Adam Driver has officially confirmed that his hopes for returning to Star Wars as a redeemed Kylo Ren are over. Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, the actor revealed that despite collaborative efforts with acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh and screenwriter Rebecca Blunt, Lucasfilm leadership rejected the secret project proposal.

Driver had been developing a Star Wars concept centered on Kylo Ren’s redemption arc, believing the character had more story potential. The trio attempted to pitch the project to Lucasfilm executives, including former president Kathleen Kennedy, but faced a firm rejection.

The cancellation comes after months of passionate fan campaigns supporting “The Hunt for Ben Solo.” Star Wars enthusiasts organized billboards and banners flown over Disney headquarters, demonstrating significant audience appetite for continuing the character’s narrative.

Driver’s statement—“No more Star Wars. We tried to do one more, but they’re like, ‘No, he’s dead’"—marks the definitive end to speculation about the project. Lucasfilm’s decision reflects its current creative direction, with executives unwilling to revisit or revise the character’s death in The Rise of Skywalker, even with major filmmaking talent attached.
