Unity posts first profit since its IPO as Vector grows 126%
Unity Software has achieved its first profitable quarter since its IPO, driven primarily by strong performance from its Vector advertising platform. Q3 2026 revenue grew 32% year-on-year to $622 million, with the company reporting GAAP net income of $122 million, compared to a net loss of $127 million in the same quarter last year.
CEO Matt Bromberg characterized the quarter as “Unity’s strongest ever,” highlighting Vector’s exceptional growth of 126% year-on-year and 40% quarter-on-quarter. The advertising business segment, Grow Solutions, generated $457 million, up 44% from the prior year. This expansion was fueled by growth in the Unity Ads network powered by Vector, though this was partially offset by declines in the IronSource Ads network. Excluding IronSource Ads and Supersonic, strategic Grow Solutions revenue surged 90% to $431.5 million.
In contrast, Create Solutions—the segment encompassing the core game engine and related development tools—grew more slowly at 8% to $165 million. The divergence suggests that while Unity’s advertising platform is experiencing significant momentum, revenue from its flagship game engine is expanding at a more measured pace, indicating a strategic shift toward monetization through advertising technology.
